I really have a hard time taking pictures of Red Yarny Things. :/ This is not the yarn I dyed last week, btw. It's Patons Classic Merino Wool in Bright Red. Their picture doesn't show the color well either. *L*
It's been a long couple of days. Feels like weeks have passed by. o.0
I spent several days in airports and the like. I finished half of my first Scarf for the Red Scarf Project. I ran out of yarn on the day I was trapped in airports and on planes for 23 HOURS. o.0
That was okay though, because by the 8th hour or so I was mad as a hatter and couldn't focus on anything. I found a rocking chair and stared at the ceiling while rocking faster and faster.
Here are some facts about current air travel:
Fact: Air Travel Sucks. Especially when they don't tell you your flight was canceled AND that it was the only flight going to Reno that day. o.0
Fact: It will take you HOURS to convince the idiots to switch you to another airline and to pay for it so that you can get your ass home.
Fact: Being selected to get the extra security stuff REALLY sucks. Some lady with bad hair and a burly mustache touched me in places only my honey is allowed to touch. :( Not just the top places either. *dies*
She didn't even buy me dinner or a drink. Cheap Bitch.
Fact: I will smack you if you touch me in ways that I do not approve of. I don't mean to, but hey it's a reaction and if you do so without warning I will do so without warning,
Fact: o.0 I said I was sorry (I didn't even mean to smack at her) and she gave me a dirty look and walked away.
Fact: looking through your purse and counting your money to make sure the idiot who just riffled through your belongings will only piss him off and make him sputter and say how he wold never steal or whatever. Yeah buddy and have you seen the news, theft by airport personal is up by 60%.
Fact: I only slowly took my time to look through my stuff to humiliate the asshole. (it worked very well, btw) I was still too shocked and disgusted by the Wookie who touched me without stating her intention that I couldn't focus on if anything was missing anyway.
Fact: Nothing is really safer. Just stupider. I didn't think it was possible but there you have it.
Blah.
Okay so about the scarf. I'm doing a modified Irish Hiking Scarf. I cast on 46 stitches instead of 42 in order to have the middle cable be 10 stitches instead of 6 so that it's a bit larger.
I cast on during take off on the way out Friday Morning. I ran out of yarn on the way back while waiting in a really crappy airport Monday afternoon. I had a broken into the icky part finger nail so it hurt to knit anyway so it was okay. After that I just watched the Ze Frank PodCasts I had on my iPod. I love that man. He gets it. I also watched some Happy Tree Friends.
Seriously if you should ever find yourself stuck in this kind of hell just find an anvil and get yourself knocked out. I'm still a mess over here. :/
