Charity Scarf FO, OtterSocks & Tea Swap Stuff

I have actual knitting content. I bet y'all forgot I even knit at all. Just thought I was over here receiving lots of fun gifties. *L*

Well here are some pics of my knitting a few minutes ago to show proof of my knitting.

Well start off with the Patons SWS Drop Stitch Scarf. I've decided it will be my first item to go into my Dulaan box. :D I've committed myself to 5 projects.

I actually finished this a few weeks ago but haven't had time to post it.

Pattern: No real pattern. Just cast on however many stitches and k3, p1 and then when I was done dropped all the purls. There is a garter border at the end as I like those. :D
Yarn: Patons SWS.

It was a fun easy knit... until it came time to drop the stitches. This yarn loves itself and is a pain to force the stitches to drop. Ugh. Never again. Although I do like the way the loops are all soft on the reverse side. They look like a lambs fleece to me... so maybe not never. :P

Next up are my socks. I'm almost done with sock #1. Although I won't have the whole pair done by the end of October I will have ONE sock done! That's something. Oh hush.

I love the way my stripes are knitting up. I'm really enjoying this. :D

Here is an action shot of the sock on my foot. It is really hard to take a picture of your own foot, btw. It's not really a lumpy ill fitting sock. That's just because I was twisting around trying to take a good picture of it on my foot. Next time I'll ask the honey to take the picture. o.0

And yes I need a Pedicure. The last one I got was back when I was making the Bunny Bag for the KSKS. Crazy! (I also don't have any polish remover. *hangs head in shame*)

Finally I will say that my Gifted Upon Partner in the Knitters Tea Swap got her package. She got it a while back, but I've been busy/sucked/dead so I didn't mention it until now. Julie is a lovely gal and was a fun partner. :D Go check out her blog for all the gifties I sent her. It was muchly fun!

And with that I have to get back to it. I have had a pile of mail I need to get out sitting here for ages and ages.  *waves @ E* Today is the day... or tomorrow. Depends on how much I get done before I fall over. :P

Knitters Tea Swap - Squidy Fun!!

I'm back. As you can tell from my lack of posts and comments I was away. (that's how these things work) I was very busy when I was away and didn't have much time to interact with anyone. I even only emailed My Best Friend twice while I was away and I did email my Knitters Tea Swap Pal once to let her know I wasn't dead or anything. (Actually I don't have any real proof I'm not dead... o.0, so Maybe I'm dead but can post. I'm a ghostie otter emailing from beyond the dark veil. Okay not really, but I am really out of it. )

So I got home to several surprises. All of which were surprising and very good. The one I'll talk about today is my Knitters Tea Swap Package and Pal.

The funny thing when I emailed with my Person who was to gift to me was that she seemed really familiar and friendly. The kind of person who if she wasn't a friend very soon would be, Ya know.

Well she was very on the ball and my package arrived here last week while I was away. My honey told me it was here and of course that just made my week away seem longer and more lonely. I wasn't home with my honey or my kitty. I wasn't getting any huggies or kissies and I couldn't even get online to interact with all you nice peoples. Blah. Long week indeed.

BUT I finally made it home. Lots of hugs and kissies and cat on head treatment and I got my mail. *happy dance*

My lovely Tea Swap Pal sent me a FANTASTIC Box of yummy delights. :D I cannot wait to try my tea's, knit with the YUMMY yarn or try that Creme Brulee Chocolate Bar I've been wanting to try ever since Cookie got a bar of it. *L* Cream Brulee Chocolate. Sounds uber decadent as hell doesn't it. :D

So without further ado here are all the yummy treats my super sweet pal, SQUID KNITS sent me. :D (Clickie for a Big Piccie)

The Yarn is Claudia Hand Painted Yarn in Just Plum. Sooooo Yummy!! :D

There are two chocolate bars. The first one is a Jacques Torres Haven Bar in Milk Chocolate Brulee. The second is a Yoya Loves Chocolate! in Salty Pretzel Milk Chocolate Bar. Salty and Sweet, that should be very yummy! :D

The Tea Cup is very nice. It has a nice balanced feel to as well as being very smooth and not too thick, but still very sturdy. It's going to become one of my Fav cups I can tell already. :D

The Tea's are by PORTO RICO IMPORTING CO. (The Tea Mug came from there as well) The yummy flavors I was sent are (I believe, haven't tasted them yet) Black Currant, Apricot and Russian Black. (Squidy if I'm wrong please let me know) They smell fantastic and I can't wait to give them a try. :D

She also included a post card with the subway map on it with a lovely note written on it. :D

I should be mailing out my box to the knitters tea swapper I'm gifting later today. *happy dance* This has been so fun!

Saturday Sky & Tea Swap Oh My!

Another Beautiful Blue Saturday Sky. :D

Recently I joined the Knitters Tea Swap 2. :D

My SP8 Giftee Person, KnitMom of Interwoven was in it the last time and it seemed like a REALLY fun swap type thing.  I've been contacted by my swapee and swapper. (Is that what it's called?) Anyway I'm WAY excited about finding fun tea and knitting treats to giftee my person with, as well as finding out what devilish surprises my person comes up with. :D

So in keeping with that I am to post a picture of my Tea Stash. (Anyone else see that kind of talk kinda bawdy or am I just weird? o.0)

Things of Note: I can't do the Red Teas, ya know the whole Rooibos thing. Just makes me feel icky. I also simply don't care for decaf. Tastes icky. As do teas that are made to taste like chocolate. Just wrong.  :P

But I'm not all negative ninny about this. I pretty much like everything else.

My Fav Teas being black teas with fruit flavors to them and simple black teas with hints of Almond and also of Cinnamon. I also enjoy Minty teas. I can do herbal too. I like orange teas and peach teas. I also like Christmas teas, if you know what I mean. I had some once at a tea house here in Reno and loved it muchly. :D I also like basic teas as well.

I also like really nice blends of green tea. :D

As for sugar, honey and sweeteners. I don't often do those, but when it's something unique I will try it and often like it. Once I had some raw sugar that was in a container with a vanilla pod and some lavender and maybe star anise or something, it was AWESOME. I've never found anything like that again though. That was at a tea house that is no longer in business.

As for tea pots right now I have a very simple set up and have been doing it one cup at a time. I have a tea kettle to heat the water and then I use my basic Adagio ingenuiTEA tea pot to brew my tea. I love that thing so much SO MUCH. I would recommend anyone who drinks tea by the cup to get one. The price is right too. :D

I think I prefer loose as it allows me to control how strong I want my tea to be per use as well as the fact that it's super yummy and more fun.

Yes MORE fun. :P

Although there are some new interesting loose like bagged teas coming along that seem pretty neat. The world is moving past the dry gritty powder like teas in the paper envelopes towards the leaves that can nicely unfurl and create a lovely cup of tea. :D

As with most things in life I prefer a bold, vibrant tea. But I also like soft calming teas too. Not so much a Chamomile kinda gal, but a soft flowery tea is nice once in a while.

I think that answers all the questions that was asked by my nifty nameless swapper. ;^)
