Here was my Saturday Sky. Yes I realize I should have posted it yesterday... but I was busy doing stuff. :P
We went and saw that move, The Descent. That has to be the most fucked up Chick Flick EVER. *L* The funny thing was we rented the Cave a few weeks ago not realizing there was more than one cave movie in our future. This was much scarier than The Cave. MUCH. Mainly because The Descent really gave you that feel of being in a small space. o.0 I started having a bit of a panic attack while watching it. Messed up. My honey had to remind me that we were in a big huge theater space and not stuck in some small cave or whatever. Yeah we'll I'm never going caving again. *L*
A million years ago when I was a moody teenager my sister took my brother and I along with her crappy Boyfriend down into some cave in Kentucky. It was not what you would call a public cave. I had a bad feeling about it from the start. Oy. But my sister had faith in her Boyfriend not to do anything stupid. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. So we hop this tall chain fence and make our way to the mouth of the cave. The two "adults" in this situation both had on proper caving gear, ya know spelunking hats (the hard hats with the lights on them) and proper boots and ropes and all of that. My brother and I had on crappy tennis shoes that had in days long past lost their tread and just jeans and a T-Shirt. (which had also seen better days, but that's a story for another time)
It was autumn, the trees on our hike to the cave were beautiful. The air was crisp and with a bit of an early morning chill and at the hour we were making our way to the mouth of the cave there was a light frost on the ground and some wispy fog surrounding us. (In CookieLand this is called winter I believe. :P)
By the time we made our way to the cave my brother and I were covered in sticky prickly things and our feet were cold and soaked through from walking through the tall grasses and weeds. Just another day in the county. The only difference was that we weren't looking for cows that had gotten loose in the night.
We were not impressed to say the least.
After squeezing through some metal grating to get into the sliver of a black gaping hole in the hillside to crawl into the cave we found ourselves standing in water that was a foot deep or so. Then we were told we needed to climb down and follow the water. o.0
Let's recap. I'm crawling in water that has who knows what in it down into uncharted territory being lead by a guy I don't have much respect for and all I really know about him is that he has some kind of Indiana Jones complex and my sister who is nearly a decade older than me and on a good day could give a bag of bricks a run for its money on an aptitude test. Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
It's at times like these I question how the fuck I get myself into situations like this. o.0
So we're climbing down and up and all around in very tight places. We were in an ant farm that fit humans. Not cool. It went on like this for a while. We're cold, wet and it's dark. Fun Times.
It was at the point when we climbed up this 20 foot rock wall and onto a ledge that had a 100 foot or so drop that I said fuck this and decided I wanted to go out the way we came. There were plenty of moments where we crawled through sludge water only to find we were at a dead end or the cavern tightened up to impossible to pass through dimensions that we had to crawl backwards out the way we came. But a 100 foot or so drop in the dark was not the way I wanted to go out if you know what I mean.
My sister was pretty pissed off at the guy for taking us into an uncharted cave and not knowing how the fuck to get out other than the way we came that she was ready to go as well. My brother didn't want to be their in the first place but who was enjoying caving and climbing was frozen so he was good to go too.
It was a few hours before we made it back to the mouth of the cave. Everyone was pretty pissy and My sister and her Boyfriend were arguing the whole way back on which way to go and all of that. We were covered in mud and numb from the cold but we got the hell out of there.
Have I mentioned I hate small spaces and have pretty bad claustrophobia as well as fear of heights.
Yeah. o.0
This was of course brought on by years of being locked in shelved one foot deep closets, wicker baskets, stuck under couches and sat upon as well as the age old torture of getting rolled up in a blanket and sat upon. I like me some good oxygen and a lot of it. o.0
I hadn't though about that cave trip in years, not until we watched that movie The Descent. Some things are better left buried I think. *L*
Anyways I had a point when I started this long assed ramble. Here are pictures of my Saturday Sky and My Sunday Sock. :P
Here's a bonus picture of my Pumpkin Patch. ;)
Here is my Sunday Sock. It's an iPod sock... mostly... maybe. Something. *L*
Oh and I picked up a copy of Stitchy McYarnPants book today. Funny Stuff! I had to stop looking at it in the store because I was laughing so hard. :D
Now I need to get back to sewing the lining for that bag and the zipper. Must. Cut. Fabric. Meep!
Great sky!
It'll grow up to be something...sooner or later. ;^)
I really do hate your sister, ya know.
*huggles*

Wow. I don't even know where to begin. That was even worse than the time I went camping with my brother and he and his buddy filled my sleeping bag with worms...while I was sleeping in it in my undershorts. Siblings.
Love your sky shots, and that big blue space ship thingy. Is that one of those Chucky Cheese bouncy room things? lol (Yeah, I am SO clueless about so many things.)

The cave thing freaked me out. I am not claustrophobic--I don't think but that would have given me the creeps even as a kid.
I love the sky and the sock photos.
Damn, were there bats in there too?

Ha ha ha ha I HAD to come back and read this again. (It's like watching a horror movie for the second time. I KNOW what's going to happen, but I HAD to do it.)
