Pattern:
Irish Hiking Scarf @ Hello Yarn
Yarn:
Karabella - 2 balls Aurora 8 color #1350 & 4 balls Aurora Bulky Melange color #007/AB7
Yardage: Just under 420
yards used - end weight 10 ounces - 64 inches long
Yarn Source:
Jimmy Beans Wool - Reno
Needles: Lantern Moon - Rosewood US 8
/ 5mm - I also used a bamboo cable needle and a plastic clover cable needle. I prefer the bamboo because it allowed for more control, although the dip in the plastic needle was nice as it put the needle down a bit out of the way.
Gauge: I didn't pay attention to gauge as it was a scarf, although it does seem to be in line with the scarves dimensions overall.
Modifications: I used two weights of yarn in two different colors.
Notes: This is the first scarf I have ever completed. It was the second scarf I started, but we all know what happened with the RockStar Scarf. :P I started it on April 21st (I think *L*). Considering I had only just started to teach myself to knit on March 25th I'd say that's not too shabby. ;) I finished the IHS last Friday morning, June 30th. I wanted to take it to show some people at a get together that night. :D
I washed it last Saturday. I haven't had an opportunity to take a quality photo of it out in the sun since. Not lack of sunlight, just lack of time. o.0
Here is a picture of it drying after I washed it with Eucalan and Lavender No Rinse Wool Wash. I love that stuff, btw. Here's a bonus picture of it at the front of the house before it was washed just because it was bright out there. I feel weird taking pictures there though. The neighbors likely think I'm weird enough as it is without taking pictures of handknits in my front yard eh. o.0

Look at you go with all those knitterly notes up there! SO professional! And that scarf is gorgeous. I've never seen it done that way with the two colors before.
Congratulations on a job well done.

Very nice. You say you just taught yourself how to knit this recently and have done cables. Congratulations.
If you haven't you Otter!

Way to go! It looks great. And don't worry about the neighbors. They'll get used to it. (They'll still think you are wierd but they'll stop thinking of you as a threat that should be watched constantly) My neighbors always ask if it's a done job or an inprogress job. :)
