Entrelac Scarf & The Time Warp

I finished my Entrelac Scarf last month or so. Due to the time warp I keep finding myself in who knows. It may have been December. o.0

Anyhoo I finally finished it. The holdup on this project was caused by bad yarn management. I had 4 balls of the Trendsetter Tonalita #2349. Somehow one of my balls got away from me. Heh.

When I was cleaning up the yarn cabinet last month or so I found it so I could finally finish my scarf. Wheeeee!! I really liked knitting this up. I sure hope so considering I went so far as to make a Tutorial for it. ;^)

I've worn it several times and like it very much, although the colors don't so much match anything. It's very dreamcoaty that way. Which is fine because unless it's a Cookie Creation I rarely wear matching knits... because I've yet to get around to knitting a matching item.

I do like this scarf lots though. George looks Faboo in it as well. :D Clickty Biggety!

George_and_the_entrelac_scarf_jan_0

The actual knitting time wasn't much for this project. My inability to stay monogamous to a single project and bad yarn management is the real time suck here.

I think I want another one of these in more sedate colors. I really liked the way the greys flow in the scarf Cookie made a while back. Not sure about Grey... a few weeks ago or so this asshat of a woman told me, as I was wearing my just finished and proudly completed Duckie Hat, "I Hate to tell you this, but grey isn't your color". If I'd had any sense I'd have asked her why she felt the need to give out her unasked for opinion if she hated doing it so much. Feh. I very adultly ignored her... I think. I may have beaten her to death and blocked it out of my memory. You never know these days. I blinked and we went from the 4th to the 13th. o.0

This time warp shit has got to stop. I know life is happening in the blackout areas. I have knitting proof that I was awake during the missing time. But damn, how the fuck is it the middle of February already.

Last month Florrie mentioned a Leftover Sock Yarn Knit Along she was going to start on February 14th. It's here tomorrow and I still need to get my yarn leftovers together. There is also a contest with the Knit Along. It's a Crazy Socks Contest! :D If you like the idea of using your sock yarn leftovers to knit up a fun pair of socks and the possibility of winning some super nifty knitting swag why don'tcha give it a check out and knit yourself some Crazy Ass Socks. :D

I think I'm going to try to finish the socks I'm knitting on now before I start my Crazy Leftover Socks. I just started the feet on both socks yesterday when TKK and I were sitting outside enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. I was even wearing Shorts and a Tank Top. Today it's raining and it might snow later. That's okay too. ;^)

Happy Happy and the Scarf from 2007

I am Happy.

Happy Happy. *GRIN*

This weekend was absolutely fantastic. FANTASTIC. Actually the last several months or so (like the last 6 months) with the honey have been super fantastic. Sometimes you just have to let go of control and just enjoy life. Prior to that I had some doubts about some things and whatnot and that confusion and whatnot made things a bit tense off and on. Looking back it was just me making waves and being silly over shit that really makes no damn sense at all. The two of us not being around people or a situation that pissed us both off has been HUGE. Funny how taking out the thing that caused the arguments and disruptions can lead to greater happiness.

NTS: Never ask the honey go someplace he doesn't want to be, do things he doesn't care for or be around people he can't stand. The same goes for me. Don't do shit for other people because you feel guilty or whatever BS reason they try to push on you.

If I had to cover any of the resolutions from last year over again. It would be the ones about avoiding stupid people. Last year I kinda sucked at that. I got better. But still I didn't say no as often as I should have.

So this year, not so much a resolution, but a declaration I will SAY NO TO STUPID PEOPLE.

That and I need to stay in contact more often with those people who matter a great deal to me. I have been super sucky about that in the last several months or so.

Feeling like life is swallowing me whole is no excuse to not be there for the people who give that life meaning.

Now it's not just the glow of a lovely weekend with the honey making me feel/say these things. Just something I've had on my mind for a while. That and the relief and gratefulness for not being a complete ass earlier this year when I was contemplating my future choices.

So anyway I feel like I have back some of that whack I thought I'd lost. I fear I'm still somewhat out of whack and later this month I'll have my whack all out of sorts again, but it will hopefully be a temporary out-of-whackedness. Heh.

Speaking of Resolutions, Resolution #10 is the only one I'm renewing. Otherwise I'll just fly by the seat of my pants and do the things I need to do to be a happy person.

I knit a Fabulous Baby Alpaca Scarf for myself back in early December. It might have been November. Who can tell at this point, that was ages ago! o.0

Alpaca_scarf__george_2007

The yarn is Baby Chunky Alpaca from Misti Alpaca. It was fun and fast to knit up. SO SOFT. A joy to work with... but after wearing it just a few times I'm not so sure about it. This is the most pilly yarn I've ever seen. It sheds like a bitch too. :/ Still soft as hell, but damn if I wanted to have fur bits all over my clothes I'd hug the cat after getting dressed. There is also some Claudia Handpainted held with it in there. Chocolate Cherry sock yarn. It adds a bit of color and makes it kinda tweedy. I just did a simple 3x3 rib for the pattern.

The other knits of 2007 will have to fall into 2008 since I still need to photograph them. One of them will have to wait until it's owner gets it and takes it's picture. Here's hoping I get my ass over to the post office soon! Though I still don't trust them. Bastards.

Anyway after having a great weekend I'm prepared to have a great week. Wheeeeeee!!!!

Red Scarf Project, George and TKK Oh My!

I finished my Scarf for this years Red Scarf Project. Well this Autumn's Red Scarf Project as it's not really 2008 yet. Either way it's fantabulous and benefits the Orphan Foundation of America. :D

Just think some College kid will receive my handknit scarf as modeled by the lovely George here. George is as high fashion as it gets, Baby! Clickety Biggety!

Red_scarf_project_autumn_07

George was petting TKK when I took this photo. (Yes, the scarf was washed after it touched the kitty.) TKK said she wanted to be in the photo, but you know how models and their egos can be. So we had to take another photo of her without George or the scarf to show off just how vivacious and fuzzy she is. Truly the cutest kitty ever.

Tkk_9_26_07

She knows how to work the camera. That and she was trying to lick it. :P

Some details on the scarf:

Cast On: August 17, 2007
Cast Off: September 21, 2007
Pattern: My Own "Not a Real Pattern Pattern" - Simple Alternating sections of Garter, Seed & Basket Weave
Yarn: Universal Yarn from the Moods line color 1505 - It's a Worsted Weight Wool/Acrylic blend that has colors that blend between Red and Black. - I had two balls of the yarn when I started and I still have 3/4 of one of them. I'll use that to make Hats for the Charity Box at Deluxe Yarns for the local homeless & needy.
Yardage: 247 yards
Yarn Source: Deluxe Yarns
Needles: Clover Takumi -  US 10.5 / 6.5mm 16" Circular
Again? YES! It was a fun easy knit and the honey liked it so he'll likely get one in the Blue and Black Colorway. :D Nothing like some mindless knitting to make you all nice and relaxed when things are kinda stressy.

Notes: This was my first Completed Scarf using Garter Stitch as more than a border. *L* The scarf is 6 feet long and 5.5 inches wide. This scarf was started with some friends when I was too brain dead to knit on the socks I had with me at the time. It's been knit on in four states and through several drinks and travels. Heh.

Random Observation: It just occurred to me that George kinda looks like Jerri Blank's Father, Guy.

George on the left, Guy on the right

Twins Separated at Birth! o.0

I'm glad I finished the scarf in time. Now I just need to get a gift certificate, write a note and care instructions and mail it off.

In other news I finished another pair of socks... *happy dance*

September 20, 2007

I knit, no really...

It's been a long hot summer and though I haven't been posting as much as normal I have been knitting.

No, Really. :D

I even finished something.

No, Really. :p

It's even something I can finally post for the Summer of Socks.

Oh Shut Up, It's true!

The Honey socks were finished in July or so. I've been really bad about taking notes so I don't know exactly when it was. *sigh*

Here they are. The sun washed out the color some. They are much darker and in person.

Clickety Biggety!
Honey_socks_of_love

The flowers are marigolds that came out of my garden. They went bonkers and out grew their area so we had to trim them back.

I ran out of the Claudia Yarn but with the balls Freddie gave me and some Louet in a similar colorway (both were called Caribbean Blue) I was able to fake it through the toes. I stripped the yarn Freddie gave me with the Louet. It looks very good and just enough matchy. :D

These are to date the tallest & longest socks I've ever made. Also the smallest gauge.

When it gets cooler the honey can wear them. He knows he is by no means to wash them on his own. I'll need to teach him about hand washing wool items at some point, but for now I rather enjoy the task so I'll keep it.

I'm still at a stopping place with those Tropicana Dave Socks. If I don't make a short row heel that looks decent soon I may give up on this pair and go with a lovely heel flap like on the honey socks. That heel is an Eye of the Partridge. Beautiful and Sturdy.

Here's the terror of the bad sock heel. Turn away if you are faint of heart. o.0

Dave_socks_short_row_wtf

It looks MUCH worse in person, btw.

Hope is not lost yet though. My Best Friend wrote out a different short row heel for me using the same number of stitches I need. Her heels are always faboo, so if I can get my brain to work properly I should have this problem resolved soon. *happy dance*

And DUDE! Check out her 37th pair of socks for the Summer of Socks. THIRTY SEVEN PAIRS OF SOCKS! Knit in only two months. That woman is an awesomely crazy fantastic sock knitter.

That pair of socks is for Moi. *Super Happy Dance* I'm the luckiest Otter ever and my feetsies will be warm as can be. :D Thank You, Cookie!!!

I hope like hell her hands don't actually fall off. Or that her brain falls out of her head. Though if it does we are close enough to Halloween that she can pass it off as just getting into the spirit of the season and say she feed it to a Zombie or something. *grin*

In other knitting news I have completed the body of my sweater, including the front and back hems and the collar. I did have half a sleeve knit... but after trying it on and seeing that it was way too big I'm going have to rip it out. I'm going to do some measuring and knit math to determine just how many decrease rows I'll need to do to get the sleeves at the proper width for the length I want it at.

I'm also knitting on and 75% done with my Red Scarf Project. I love everything about this project, including The Norma. When I grow up I wanna tell it like it is the way she does. Though I'm sure there are plenty of people who think I'm perhaps too blunt as it is. *L*

The scarf is made with Universal Yarn from the Moods line. It's a Wool/Acrylic blend that has colors that blend between Red and Black. It's very soft and looks great knit up. I'm doing a basic scarf that goes in sections from garter to seed stitch with two sections of basket weave on either end. I'm really loving how this is knitting up. :D Oh and this is the first "garter" scarf I've worked on since the whole RockStar Scarf incident. Some loves never truly die. *snicker*

Clickety Biggety!

Red_scarf_project__gryffindor_ipod_

The other project is a Gryffindor iPod holder for RenDogg. I need to Kitchener up the end then it will be done. Considering I won't see him again until the middle of October chances are it won't be completed until just right before that. :P

I have a BUNCH of other WIP's on the needles that need to be completed as well. But that's another post for another day.

And FYI the other bottles of wine remain unopened. :P

Tune in tomorrow when I tell you some other exciting news in the world of Otter.

Hint: Pumpkins!!

Cabin Cove KAL & Red Scarf Finale!

Do you have some of Dave's Cabin Cove Mercantile Yarn stashed away?

Did you join one of those new fangled knit only from your stash KAL's, yet you can still buy sock yarn or yarn for another KAL?

Do you love beautifully hand painted yarn?

Have you ever wanted to join a KAL but want something low key, no pressure with no stressful deadlines?

If so we've got the Knit Along for you! :D

Your Cabin Cove

Cookie is hosting this ultra fantabulous Cabin Cove KAL over at Shut Up and Knit Your Cabin Cove.

So what are you waiting for? Shut up, and go knit your Cabin Cove yarn! *L*

I'm going to finish up my Pink Dream Hourglass Socks, start my Eunny Jang Anemoi Mittens and TRY to start some lace (I saw that Dave :P) in a color that is super flattering to my skin tone All with Dave's kick ass yarn! *happy otter dance*

In other news I finally finished off that dreaded Noro Scarf Saturday afternoon. I took Duckie Hat breaks in between so I would have the strength to go on. By the time I was to the end I was so antsy I cast off way too tight so I had to redo that part Sunday morning. I washed it yesterday and boy did that thing soften up. All kinds of weird stuff came out when I hand washed it, so I'm thinking maybe that yarn should be washed before it's knit with. o.0

It's really soft and lovely now. All that negative feelings I had when knitting it are gone now. I can even see why people like it. I may even knit with it again someday... maybe... we'll see. :P

I hope my second Red Scarf Person like it.

Here it is without further adieu my second Red Scarf Project Scarf as modeled by George. ;^)

Red_scarf_project_2007

It's Noro Silk Garden, not sure of the color number or where I got this yarn. It's purple/green/brown/blue and some fuchsia. I don't think it's enough fuchsia to be outside the bounds of the unisex scarf though. Oh and the pattern is a simple mistake rib scarf. I saw the pattern listed on this post of Cookie's. I'd make this again. Looks neat and is more open than a regular rib scarf. :D

Here are the goodie boxes with the scarves all packed up. I got some satin photo/memory boxes at Micheal's. (pretty cheap 2 for $5 I think it was) I put into each box the scarf, a Valentines day Hershey Chocolate Bar, Conversation Hearts, a Borders gift card and a Pirate Valentine. That's right Pirate Valentines Cards. Arrrrrrrrr! *GRIN*

Clickety Biggety:
Red_scarf_project_gifties

So anyway there's the boxes. I have pretty pink and brown Valentines XOXO ribbon to box it all up with too. This has been a really fun project. I'm so glad The Norma threatened my life** unless I knit two scarves for this. ;^)

Alrighty Folks, I gotta go do some stuff. Tune in Tomorrow for late breaking Otter News!!! *Seriously Over the Top Happy Otter Dance*

**Silly things, of course The Norma didn't threaten my life. She just told everyone how cool this project was. :D

The Final 2006 FO's - Hat & Scarf

Due to my previous lack of whack I had failed to post my last two completed projects of 2006.

This first one was one of my Dulaan hats knit during Knit Unto Others. I finished it on the last day and it was briefly shown on the post I made that day.  It was also made for my participation in JoFrog's Double Knit Along. I was going to make a kitty blankey, but got distracted. Now I'm rethinking the kitty blankey. This doesn't mean I don't love my wittle bundle of furry joy though. Just that she has to keep using her crochet pink blankey. ;)

Side one:
Double_knit_stripes1

Side Two:
Double_knit_stripes2

Pattern: No real pattern. Just started knitting in the round, then doubled my stitches and periodically switched the yarns to make stripes. Needed another needle, like a cable needle to move stuff around to do the decreases at the top.

Yarn: Lambs Pride - Worsted - 85% Wool & 15 % Mohair. Still don't care for mohair, btw. It gets in my eyes and I inhale it. The stuff floats around everywhere. Not fun. Plus it's hell on black clothes. *L* Although I do think this yarn is pretty and not as bad as most mohair. I'd use it again. The colors are Clematis (purple) and Kiwi (green)

Yardage: Not sure. I have enough of both yarns to make some matching mittens or another hat. :D

Needles: Who can remember? *L*

Notes: Started on November 9th and completed on December 2nd. It was a fun hat to knit up. The hat is SUPER warm and perfect for the dangerously cold weather over in Mongolia. It's like you're wearing two hats. *L*

This next project was the lacy Double Eyelet Rib Scarf that I made for my SIL.

Full View as it's blocking:
Double_eyelet_rib_scarf2

Close Up:
Double_eyelet_rib_scarf1

I completely forgot to take a picture of this after it was done. Plus I was rushing around. It came out really well. Love! I am so making a scarf for myself in this pattern.

Pattern: Double Eyelet Rib Scarf from The Little Box of Scarves

Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca - Alpaca & Silk - Sport weight -  in the color Sapphire

Yardage: 290 yards or so - almost two skeins

Needles: That was last year I can't remember :P

Notes: I started this scarf on November 14th and finished it on December 7th. I washed and blocked it in a hotel room. I packed along in my checked luggage some wool wash and T-Pins to block it with. This was a fun knit and I will be making more stuff like this in the future. :D

Mods:  I added an extra pattern repeat to the scarf and I used sport weight silk & alpaca instead of the recommended worsted cotton. I like mine better than the picture on the pattern card. Heh.

My SIL seemed to really like it. She's a really great person and a pleasure to gift to. I think I only ever want to knit gifties for people who are awesome and worth my time. She fits the bill. ;^)

So that concludes my 2006 knitting. I know I only just started knitting at the end of march, but damn this is so fun and rewarding. I can't imagine my life without it now. Or you'se peoples.

Red Scarf Project 2006

Last night I finished my Red Scarf Project Scarf. :D Just a bit ago George and I headed out into my backyard to freak the neighbors out more than normal try to get a good picture for the Gallery. The Norma should find this amusing. I hope. o.0

Yatta you know the drill, click to see larger image

Red_scarf_project_2006

This was a fun scarf for me to knit up. Both for the fun had knitting it and for the cause.

I started this scarf back in September and have knit on it off and on as it wasn't due until January. I'm a slow scarf knitter so I knew I was likely only going to knit one. Plus I'm doing Dulaan also. Both important.

This scarf has been in four states and has met a celebrity. I figure when I write out the little note card for the giftie I'll write the scarfs life story so far so the giftie person can be amused by it.

Well I hope it's amusing.

Back in September I had an opportunity to meet Bruce Campbell. He's famous for being the worlds greatest B level actor. You may recall him as Ash in the Evil Dead movies. ;^)

We had to wait in a very long line for him to sign his book, Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way. So I did what any sane person would do, I knit. I was knitting on the red scarf. By the time I got up to him he was looking pretty rough. He was nice. Asked me who I was knitting for and I told him, some orphan type person I've never met and that it was for the Red Scarf Project. I asked if he would take a picture with the scarf so I could send it off with the scarf to the person who got it. He said okay and being a comedian was pretending to actually knit on it. *L* Too cute. Sadly my camera was being a pain and the lady who was taking the pictures took a moment longer than sanity will allow to actually take the picture so he kinda has a sour look on his face. In his defense he had been signing books and answering dumb questions for a long time. I can't really blame him. *L* (Plus many of the people who were in line hadn't learned about things like soap and water. Apparently playing WoW 80 hours a week leaves little time for such niceties. o.0)

Here's the picture:

Bruce_campbell_redscarf

The yarn I used was Patons Classic Merino. It's a little over 6 feet long and 6 inches wide. For a close up of the stitch detail you can look back on this post from September.

Doesn't George look dashing in the red scarf? I may have to make him his own later this winter. ;^)

Eye Candy Friday: SunSet, Kitty & a rant apparently...

Eye Candy Friday

It's Friday.  How we got here I have no bloody idea. *blink* It's like someone keeps moving the space time continuum around on me. Just to screw with me, ya know. o.0

Life, it be weird.

So Wednesday I went winter holiday shopping. Winter Depression Inducing commercialization so stores can get in a final bang before their year end gross profit numbers are announced. Winter Christian stealing of pagan traditions and stories so you can feel like a good person for the rest of the year holiday bullshit.

What? Did I say too much? Nah.

I don't go in for all that, although I will be forced to deal with it. Oh Joy.

Now I don't mind giving gifts. I like it actually, as many of you have seen in my swap giftings or maybe even in a gift you got from me yourself. Those are fine. Wonderful in fact. My Choice.

My Choice and the fact no suffocating belief system is attached to the gifts is what makes them a joy to give. I get the pleasure of giving to someone I like or am forced into a situation with in a swap.

I say these things not to be offensive to anyone who does go in for that sort of thing, but to speak my mind as I feel I need to do. Cause in a few weeks there will be very little mind speaking. :/ Just holiday taking it and being quite so as not to be a pain in my family or whoevers' ass.

Actually in a few weeks I'll be avoiding the overplayed game of, When ya gonna get married. It's a pretty shitty game. My Fav answer is , how's the sex life with you and your wife/hubby? Tends to freak them out. Heh.  Often these same assholes are the ones checking out people they aren't married to.

I used to think that being married meant you became a lecherous darting eyed idiot. Now I see that married has little to do with it. Most people just suck. Lots even go in for more than a glance if you know what I mean.

There's nothing sadder and often sicker than a Christian man trying to talk like a player to get in the sack with a person who is not their spouse. Really they make marriage and Christians look bad. Repubs too as those types often lean that way. Have you seen a paper lately? Yeah, my point is made for me.

But back to the intention of my post. I have pictures. Friday Eye Candy Pictures.

Here is the Sunset from the night I went Holiday shopping. It's in the parking lot. Yes, I'm the freak who whips out her camera whenever wherever. *L*

Seeing a bunch of those phony assholes out in the stores is what made me get off target, btw. I'm not normally so filled with disgust, but tis the season.

Wednesday_sunset

Oh and before anyone gets their panties in a bind, not any of ya regulars as you know I just speak my mind as I see fit, but anyone who might stumble upon this, please know that I don't think all Xtians are lying sacks of shit. Nope. I have many friends who believe in various things. But they aren't out there shoving their crap down my throat. Many people believe things and go on to live normal healthy lives.

I'm also friends with people who don't knit, so you see I can be friends with just about anyone. *L*

In other Eye Candy News here is my kitty TKK. She's in her favorite cat bed. This is the most difficult to wash cat bed as it has lots of fluff that comes off and gets stuck in the washing machine. I'd gladly get her a different one. She has many beds in fact, but she just loves this one so much. I can't take away her fav bed even though it's a pain in the ass to wash.

Friday_kitty

She is just such a cutiehead kitty. :D

Alright one last night of knitting for myself. Tomorrow marks the start of Knit Unto Others. I have a Red Scarf and a DK Dulaan hat to finish up for my Charity Knits. Plus I'm waiting on some yarn to get here so I can start my first sweater. It's a child's sweater for Dulaan. I've got plenty more yarn to knit hats and scarves or whatever during KUO which is from 11/18 to 12/2.

Ya know, my honey has been really supportive of my charity knitting. He thinks it's cool that I'm actually doing something unlike many people we know (Xtians back east) who are all a twitter with "how awfuls" and no action to do anything about anything. I feel really good about these projects. Especially Dulaan. Once I really looked into what all it was and who all it helped it was clear I could and should do what I can. Plus I like Camels and they are Camel peoples. *grin*

For some inspirational movie watching while you do some knitting give the Docudrama, The Story of the Weeping Camel a try. It's the story of a Mongolian Family who live by way of the camel. Very Touching. Those people struggle everyday and they are doing WAY the hell better off than the people who will get the Dulaan knits. Plus it has camels and camels are always nice. My honey took me to see that when it was in theaters however many years ago. See I told ya we have a thing about camels. ;)

Here's the Lace Type scarf I'm doing for myself now. The pattern is from the box set of The little box of scarves. It's the Double Eyelet Rib Scarf. I added an extra set of the pattern repeat to make it a little wider. I spread it out over my carpet for this photo. The edges curl under a bit right now.

Scarf_progress

I'm not sure how it will look once blocked. The scarf on the card is made with cotton and I'm using Alpaca and Silk. The yarn they used was worsted and I'm using sport weight. I hope to finish this up so I can wear it to a holiday event next month. It would seem I'm a bit of my own kind of hypocrite wouldn't it. Oh well, better to be my own kind I guess. *L*

Still feeling very stressed and out of it. Last night I went to a knitting thing. Nearly broke my iPod on the way over. One of the girls finally got it to turn off for me. I downloaded some new software for it today. I hope it lives. I really freaked myself out. Plus I was still mighty freaked out from the last week or so. *sigh* I'm really starting to think I should never leave my house. It's one thing to speak your mind on your own blog where you are allowed such things, but in public with people who may or may not think you are a dork is another thing entirely.

If anyone needs me I'll be hiding under my rock over here. I've got Pepsi and Yarn so I should be okay for awhile. Oy.

November 15, 2006

In addition to whining I knit. Really.

Here's the DK hat for Dulaan that I started last Wednesday. :D

Dk_hat_wip

I need to finish up the top decreases then it'll be finished.

This could also count towards the DK Knit Along Project. Although I still need to get started on the new kitty blankey.

Instead of finishing the hat or even doing much on the second sock this week I've been swatching for a lace scarf for myself. Last night I found the pattern I wanted to do. It's a really fun fast knit too. Already have the pattern stuck in my head. *L* It's a simple four row pattern repeat. It reminds me of cables as it's just ribbing except for the one row where you do something special. In this case it's K2toging, Yarn Overs, Slipping and PSSO's that make it what it is. :D Much Fun. The yarn is Alpaca and Silk. SO SOFT!

Lace_scarf_alpacasilk

Still getting stuff organized over here. I hurt my damn ankle moving stuff around yesterday. I really am graceful. *eyeroll* I think the Accident Prone Knitter sent me some of her luck or something. *L*

Even though I have EightyGaBillion emails to send and reply to I am going out into the world. Rumor has it Christmas Shopping may be taking place.

No worries though I have a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge for when I get back.

Wish me luck. o.0

Charity Scarf FO, OtterSocks & Tea Swap Stuff

I have actual knitting content. I bet y'all forgot I even knit at all. Just thought I was over here receiving lots of fun gifties. *L*

Well here are some pics of my knitting a few minutes ago to show proof of my knitting.

Well start off with the Patons SWS Drop Stitch Scarf. I've decided it will be my first item to go into my Dulaan box. :D I've committed myself to 5 projects.

I actually finished this a few weeks ago but haven't had time to post it.

Drop_stitch_scarf_sws

Pattern: No real pattern. Just cast on however many stitches and k3, p1 and then when I was done dropped all the purls. There is a garter border at the end as I like those. :D
Yarn: Patons SWS.

It was a fun easy knit... until it came time to drop the stitches. This yarn loves itself and is a pain to force the stitches to drop. Ugh. Never again. Although I do like the way the loops are all soft on the reverse side. They look like a lambs fleece to me... so maybe not never. :P

Next up are my socks. I'm almost done with sock #1. Although I won't have the whole pair done by the end of October I will have ONE sock done! That's something. Oh hush.

Ottersocks_midnight_in_the_pumpkin_patch

I love the way my stripes are knitting up. I'm really enjoying this. :D

Here is an action shot of the sock on my foot. It is really hard to take a picture of your own foot, btw. It's not really a lumpy ill fitting sock. That's just because I was twisting around trying to take a good picture of it on my foot. Next time I'll ask the honey to take the picture. o.0

And yes I need a Pedicure. The last one I got was back when I was making the Bunny Bag for the KSKS. Crazy! (I also don't have any polish remover. *hangs head in shame*)

Finally I will say that my Gifted Upon Partner in the Knitters Tea Swap got her package. She got it a while back, but I've been busy/sucked/dead so I didn't mention it until now. Julie is a lovely gal and was a fun partner. :D Go check out her blog for all the gifties I sent her. It was muchly fun!

And with that I have to get back to it. I have had a pile of mail I need to get out sitting here for ages and ages.  *waves @ E* Today is the day... or tomorrow. Depends on how much I get done before I fall over. :P
