Have you been visiting Ravelry again?

Tiny Tyrant

Totally love the SCTM phrase.

And now it seems I must break down and truly try Cookie's sock method.

Stacey

Love the SCTM. :D But, um... I thought it was all about me! *sniff, sniff* That Cookie Cutter short row thing has been amazing for my knitting too. Now I actually have to knit. The shawl looks gorgeous too.

Carrie

WAHOO, I get a cookie!
Gauge is a funny thing - I started knitting on a sock I haven't touched in a year, and while I used to be quite a loose knitter (interpret at will) I have tightened up (natch) and you can see it clearly in my sock.
Oh yeah, and you and I can be the slacker half of the shawl knitalong. :-D

Angie

I hoped you baked. :D

Aren't friends wonderful?! Confident knitting is cool.

Should we start up a bail fund? KIDDING! /sort of. I would probably be the first one to benefit from it....

Dude, that SCTM story reminds me of going carolling with the university choir in college (of which I was no a member)(which was a bit intimidating) and people brought their pitch pipes so that we could all be on pitch (which was a bit more intimidating) and this one SCTM kept having to say "I have perfect pitch" over and over again like a wind up (self centered twat) monkey. (which was even more intimidating)(I mean, I barely have a grasp of what pitch is) (or not)

Now, it would be funny yet annoying rather than intimidating.

Sarah

Your phrase helps me to keep the focus humorous rather than anger and frustration.

You could go to Cafe Press and have Self Centered Twat Monkey t-shirts printed up. Handing them out would be pretty effective. And cheaper than bail...
